Beginners Program

The Beginners Certificate Program is designed specifically for the serious student looking to achieve a professional career as a makeup artist.

Classes are taught privately (one-on-one). Instruction and timetables are completely personalized for each individual student. We do allow two students per classroom, if requested. We occasionally offer group classes. Students interested in group lessons are asked to sign up for our newsletter.

Vancouver-area students: The program is taught once or twice a week until completion.

Registration

Complete the application form. We will then email you enrollment forms, the course outline, prices, deposit information, registration deadlines, and further information regarding enrollment.

Prerequisites

No previous experience required.

Upon Completion

Graduating students will be issued a Certificate of Completion in Makeup Artistry (Beginners)

Supplies

You will receive a Basic Makeup Kit (MAC) and a Professional Makeup Brush Set from VMMA (included in your program fee). Student must bring a model of their choice to each class. If you cannot find someone to apply makeup on, please let your instructor know as soon as possible before starting your program. You will also need to bring your existing makeup kit (even personal makeup supplies and skin products from home will work), a 3-ring binder with plastic sheets, and a pen to each class to take notes. We highly recommend that our beginners students purchase a small tackle box for their first makeup kit. Your instructor will send you a short list of additional supplies you may have to purchase (Q-Tips, tissues, etc.)

We accept money orders and all major credit cards.

Registration Deadlines

Enrollment forms and the 50% deposit must be received by the registration deadline in order to hold your spot.

Main School Location: Lonsdale Quay, North Vancouver, BC, Canada.

Occasional Programs & Classes: Chicago, Seattle, Calgary, Edmonton, and Florida.
